Project Market-space is an artist-run event initiative co-founded by Wen Pei in February 2023 that ran bi-mothly until the end of 2026. Event production was led by Wen Pei and a team of Q/T/POC creatives with expertise across a range of mediums including photography, printing, ceramics, jewelry design, music production and dance.  With such diversity in their roots, Project Market-space endeavored to nurture supportive spaces for other emerging creatives across disciplines who had stories to tell and heart-work to share by being apart of Project Market-space events in various capacities regardless of their experience in the field - as stallholders, workshop facilitators or volunteers.

Under Wen Pei‘s leadership, Project Market-space supported more than 400 LGBTQIA+ or PoC creatives, with 96% of them identifying as emerging creatives or first-time participants. Events in 2025 brought in up to 900 attendees at each time, increasing by 6.5x since the initiative’s inception in 2023.

Project Market-space has collaborated with Bankstown Arts Centre (City of Canterbury Bankstown) to present markets in line with Bankstown Food Festival (2024), and THUMPER for a night market fundraising for gender equality in China (2024).

Project Market-space acquired $5,000 in public funding support from Randwick City Council’s Town Hall Takeover Program in 2025 to run their events throughout the year collaboration with Hush Club for live music programming.
